On-Camera Chat: Norton Leufven

Norton is starring in an upcoming nc16 webseries, an avid video game fan and lover of the outdoors, he's making sure that his acting is inspired by the life he leads. We can't forget to mention what initially caught our eye about him, he has been on Maya's favorite television show: "Superstore." Read on to get to know him a bit more than you may already...

Where are ya from?

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California

Bring us through a day if you had a friend visiting town...

We would start by visiting the stables, I would take my friend on a trail ride, then a western BBQ, trip to Santa Monica Pier and a night at an amusement park! These are some of my favorite things to do.

What is one cause you believe in?

I believe in supporting our troops, I am a monthly volunteer for Operation Gratitude in which we make care packages for our military overseas, it is a great way to give back.

What’s your favorite memory from being on set in Superstore?

I had a  really good time on the set of Superstore, I was given a script but then told to improvise

myself and Colton Dunn laughed so much I will always remember how friendly and how widely I was accepted on the set. I have never been giving a standing ovation on a set, until Superstore.

Emergency: LA: what was the process of that audition?

It was interesting, I was performing in a 10 minutes play festival, the creator of the show was at the performance. He approached my mom after the performance and asked me to come in for an audition it was informal I read with him and he booked me.

What do ya do in your free time?

I spend a lot of time at the horse stables riding, I roller skate with friends, amusement park with friends,  take my husky Keisha hiking and I enjoying reading. But most importantly to me is family time.

We know you’re in the upcoming nc16 web series, so the real question: “What does it feel like to be a normal high schooler”?

I am not the typical normal high schooler, as I am home schooled makes it easier when I have auditions or when I am on set, however I do attend an enrichment day with other home schooled high schoolers.

How do you balance life as an actor and life as a kid?

The majority of my friends are also teen actors so we like to go to amusement parks or go cart racing during down time.

If you were on a desert island, what are five things you’d bring with you?

I would definitely need a good book, a hammock, water plenty of water, my DS, and video games.
